Sobre la alianza

The Prison Radio Association (PRA) is a UK charitable organization founded in 2006, registered in England and Wales under charity number 1114760. Its mission is to use radio as a tool for transformation in contexts of incarceration, reduction of reoffending, and rebuilding of social bonds. In 2009 it founded National Prison Radio, the world's first national broadcaster directed at incarcerated people, now present in more than one hundred prisons across the United Kingdom, with main studios at HMP Brixton and HMP Styal. Through its Prison Radio International (PRI) programme, the PRA leads the global movement of radio stations produced from inside prisons: a network of initiatives across countries in Europe, North America, Asia, and Oceania that shares programming, training, editorial standards, and research. The Prison Radio international conference brought together representatives from twelve countries and four continents and gave rise to the sector's first international impact report. Cooperativa de Trabajo Liberté Ltda. maintains ties with the network through its station Radio Aires de Liberté, self-managed by incarcerated people from the Unidad Penal N°15 in Batán.
